Map Your Future is a free online program that will help you plan what you want to do in the future. It has information and activities to help you set goals and get the right support to achieve your goals.

Map Your Future is designed for disabled young people who are aged 12 to 25, but anyone can complete this program.

You can do this program on your computer, laptop, tablet or phone.

What is this program about?

This program has 7 topics:

Disability Pride 
Is about being proud of who you are  

Joining the NDIS 
Is about how to join the NDIS 

Getting NDIS support 
Is about getting the right support  

Setting goals 
Is about planning what you want to do in the future 

Making your own choices 
Is about how to choose what you want to do 

Speaking up and advocacy 
Is about speaking up for yourself and others 

Self-care 
Is about looking after yourself 

There are questions for you to answer in each topic. They will help you set goals and figure out what support you need to achieve your goals.

Getting NDIS support

This program has a lot of information about the NDIS but you can do this program even if you do not get support through the NDIS. Visit the NDIS website to find out more.

You can save your answers throughout this program to take to your NDIS planning meeting. Sharing your answers will help the person creating your NDIS plan understand what your goals are and what support you need.

What is in each topic?

Each topic has its own web page, which has: 

  • Text
    • You can zoom (+ / -) in and out to change the size of the words.
    • You can use your own device or your screen reader to have the text read to you.
  • Images
    • All images have alt-text.
  • Text boxes
    • You can type your answers into the text boxes.
    • You can use voice-to-text built into your phone, tablet, laptop or computer.

Some words are written in We have used Tooltips throughout this tool to help you understand what these words mean.bold and blue font. If you do not know what these words mean you can click on the word to find out.

Saving your answers

Each topic has questions that you can answer. Make sure you save your answers.

IMPORTANT: Your answers will not be saved anywhere unless you save them.

At the end of each topic you can print, email, or screenshot your answers.

How to change topics

Move through the topics by clicking or tapping the blue topic buttons at the bottom of each webpage:
