sense of belonging in their community
-
sense of pride in their identity
-
social connections and networks
-
understanding of mental health and access to safe, inclusive support
-
understanding of support services and how to access them
-
access to safe, supportive, inclusive spaces.
Projects and activities led by young people, or with evidence of meaningful youth participation, will be prioritised.
HEY Grant categories
Youth-led projects: For LGBTIQA+ young people with an idea for a project that supports their LGBTIQA+ peers to feel proud of their identity and more connected to community. To apply, you and the people leading your project must be under 25 (but you can get people older than 25 to proofread and help you with your application).
Social Connectedness projects: For organisations and services to expand or improve their support for LGBTIQA+ young people, and for targeted projects for LGBTIQA+ young people that will improve their mental health and wellbeing. These projects must give LGBTIQA+ young people opportunities to meaningfully participate and influence decisions throughout the project.
