About the AGM Panel

To celebrate YACVic’s 65th anniversary, this year’s AGM features a special panel exploring the future of youth advocacy, community resilience and systems change in Victoria. Our panelists bring rich experience across youth work, emergency management, health, education, community leadership and lived experience advocacy.

Jasper Francis

Jasper is a passionate youth advocate from the Dandenong Ranges, where a deep connection to Victoria’s forests and lived experience of bushfire risk shaped his commitment to climate resilience and youth engagement. A member of YACVic and the Centre of Excellence: Young People and Disasters, Jasper has travelled globally on conservation initiatives and champions the link between human and environmental wellbeing.

Adriel Appathurai

Adriel is a medical student, youth advocate and YACVic Young Peer Facilitator who works to elevate young people’s lived experiences in health, climate and multicultural communities. With extensive advisory experience across government and non-profit sectors, Adriel brings a unique perspective shaped by his refugee background and his commitment to inclusive decision-making. He also serves on the Centre of Excellence: Young People and Disasters Youth Advisory Group.

Professor Emeritus Robyn Broadbent

Robyn is a respected youth worker, researcher and global youth policy leader. With decades of practice and research experience at Victoria University, she has contributed to youth policy across all levels of government and chaired the Commonwealth Alliance of Youth Work Associations. Robyn continues to write, supervise PhDs and support vulnerable young people—often alongside her therapy dog, Banjo.

Emi Hall

Emi is the Director of Operations at Foundations for Tomorrow and a purpose-driven leader across the education, not-for-profit and government sectors. With qualifications in government, education and business, Emi brings a multidisciplinary approach to improving social and economic outcomes—particularly for women, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and people with disability. She is also the Founder of the Carnelian Foundation and mum to Lily.

Bonnie Dukakis

Bonnie is a proud Gunditjmara woman and CEO of the Koorie Youth Council. She has worked across youth justice, Aboriginal dispute resolution and community healing programs, and is dedicated to strengthening cultural identity, community voice and youth empowerment. Bonnie supports young people to be heard and influence the systems that shape their futures.
