Are you a young person aged 18 – 25 living in Victoria?

Are you keen to make is easier for young people to share their opinions?

Are you passionate about Consent and Respectful Relationships Education in Catholic schools?

Background

The Victorian Catholic Education Authority (VCEA) in partnership with Youth Affairs Council Victoria (YACVic) are recruiting young people to join 3 focus groups to understand the current Consent and Respectful Relationships Education in Victorian Catholic schools.

Focus groups will give feedback on a survey, created for Victorian Catholic secondary students, where students can share their honest thoughts and reflections about current Consent and Respectful Relationships Education.

The opportunity

VCEA and YACVic will run three online workshops and meet with up to 15 young people (aged 18 – 25) with a diverse range of identities and backgrounds.

You will attend a focus group discussion to draw on your lived experience, unique perspectives and expertise, providing input on these elements of a survey:

  • How accessible and inclusive is the survey?

  • How could the questions in the survey be improved?

  • How well will this survey capture the authentic views of young people?

  • What would you have liked to be asked about your Consent and Respectful Relationships Education experience?

Three workshops will be held on Zoom, on

  • Monday 16 March, 5pm - 7pm

  • Tuesday 17 March, 5pm – 7pm

  • Monday 23 March, 5pm - 7pm

Note, we’ll ask you to think about your lived experience, but we won’t be discussing it.

Alyssa from VCEA will attend the first workshop to introduce the focus of the project and answer any questions you have. The second workshop will be a youth-led conversation among participants. Followed by the third workshop, where Alyssa will return to hear all of your suggested feedback and discuss next steps.
