The Koorie Youth Council (KYC) is aware of recent commentary surrounding our support for young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices.

KYC is funded to be a self-determined, independent organisation. As the representative body for Aboriginal* young people in Victoria, we value the diversity and self-determination of all young voices in our communities.

KYC does not fund any external activities. Led by an Executive of 15 Aboriginal young people, our role is to amplify their voices, those of our state members and all Aboriginal young people working for social change. One of the ways we do this is by showing our support for the range of movements young people are involved in and the issues that are important to them via our organisation’s communications channels.

We are proud to represent all deadly Aboriginal young people whose strength and resilience inspires us every day.
