What to expect
The aim of Think Forward’s All About Tax program is to help build economic literacy, and to help young people feel confident in advocating for their economic well-being.
Economic literacy refers to competence with, and knowledge of, economic matters. In this workshop we’re particularly interested in helping give you the tools to talk about economic policy, ask the right questions, and know where to get answers. We want to reframe ‘economics’, by looking beyond the jargon and thinking about economic policy as a question of resource allocation. We’re going to discuss tax and super, and how these effect your day to day lives.
We’ll discuss some hot button political issues like franking credits and negative gearing. Finally, we will give you some practical skills to build your confidence in talking economic policy, and resources to continue the conversation beyond this workshop.
Who is presenting
