Workshop on the Responsible Use of AI in Youth Work, Youth Justice, and Care Sectors
Swinburne University is leading a research project with Youth Affairs Council Victoria (YACVic), exploring how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is currently used, or could be used, in Youth Work, Youth Justice, and Care Services in Victoria.
The project's aim is to understand sector perspectives on the benefits, risks, and ethical considerations of AI, and to use these insights to inform future partnerships, practice guides, and training.
What to expect
Alongside a small group of other professionals from across the sector, you will:
- Explore your perspectives and experiences on AI use in your sector;
- Identify opportunities, risks, and readiness for AI implementation; and
- Discuss how the sector might collaborate to ensure responsible and ethical AI use.
All information shared will be deidentified.

Our work takes place through the lands of the Aboriginal nations within Victoria and we pay our respects to their Elders past and present. Bunjil’s lore states that those who walk on this land must care for the Country and waterways as well as care for the children and young people. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
