YACVic Rural invites youth sector professionals to join us in an online forum exploring Masculinity, Misogyny and Young People - What does masculinity mean to young people today and what happens when harmful ideas take hold?
What to expect
This session will examine the influences shaping young people’s understanding of masculinity, the rise of misogynistic attitudes and online influences, and the role of the youth sector in responding.
The Rural Huddle, through facilitated workshops creates space to challenge assumptions, unpack emerging issues from rural and regional Victoria, sharing practitioners’ experiences and observations on the ground with a focus on strengthening responses that are practical, evidence-informed and grounded in best practice.
Rural Huddles are held three times a year and bring the rural and regional youth workforce together to deep dive into a single issue. Huddles are hosted online, topic based and use interactive formats including presentations, case studies, small and large group discussions to update, inform and connect the rural and regional youth sector.

Hosted by YACVic Rural which provides dedicated and targeted advocacy for rural and regional young people and youth sector across Victoria.

- local and regional youth services,
- councils and local government youth services,
- education and training providers,
- health, mental health and wellbeing services,
- community and social service organisations,
- family and community support services,
- regional youth networks and peak bodies
