Young people with disability have been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, yet they have been largely overlooked.

That’s why YDAS formed a COVID-19 Working Group to put young people with disability at the forefront of Victoria’s pandemic response and recovery.

Our COVID-19 Working Group brings together young people with disability from around Victoria to influence the government’s pandemic response.

About the report

Together, the COVID-19 Working Group has developed a report about the experiences of young people with disability during the pandemic in 2020 and their recommendations for recovery.

They met with stakeholders and held focus groups with young people with disability to understand their experiences during the pandemic.

The data collected during the focus groups has informed the findings and recommendations in this report.

This research report has been months in the making and has taken a team of creative and committed young people with disability to bring together and develop.

It is hoped that the lived experience led research and incredible insights in this report will influence decision makers and ensure Victoria’s pandemic response and recovery meets the needs of young people with disability.
