YACVic Member Huddle Banner

YACVic is inviting you to our monthly Young Member Huddle! Yes, you heard correctly a huddle for all the young people out there! (No, it’s not a cuddle... but it may as well be)

The next meeting?

Just a quick note to let you all know that we will be postponing our Young Person Huddle until Thursday the 5th of August. This is because we are very busy planning our Youth Forum and Sector Conference!

You can find information on the Youth Forum and Sector Conference here. It will be held on 31 May (Youth Forum, for young people aged 12-25) and 1-2 June (Youth Sector Conference, for professionals who work with young people).  It is themed “Reshape Our Future”, recognising the impacts of bushfires and COVID-19 on young people in.

We are using a hybrid, multisite model, where we will run five physical locations (Melbourne, Mildura, Warrnambool, Lakes Entrance and Wangaratta) and online, all joined up via technology but also with local discussions and networking.

A bit about the Youth Forum….

The entire forum has been designed and led by young people, for young people!

The Youth Forum will have six engaging and exciting topics, each of which is being hosted by one of the above locations, with the other sites across Victoria receiving a live stream from the location and discussing the topic in-person in their location.

So we hope to see you there!! And if not, we will see you in July for our next huddle.

Please email Jess Standish jstandish@yacvic.org.au or Nuriyah Haque nhaque@yacvic.org.au if you have any questions or ideas for our next huddle in July.

What to expect:

This is YACVic’s one-hour session each month for young people to unwind, relax, and get to know YACVic and the youth sector a little bit better.  Each session we have a different theme ranging between just chilling out to talking about key issues that effect young people.

This is a safe and welcoming community where you'll have the opportunity to meet regularly. This will also be the chance to access and network with the group, as well as to share resources and knowledge as well as seek advice and guidance.

The huddles are free to attend via Zoom.

Who should attend?

This event is open to anyone who is:

  • A young person! (Yes any young person... but shhh no one above 25!)

  • Young people connected to a member organisation

  • Young staff of a member organisation

We’ll also promote these in our fortnightly newsletter, which you can sign up here

If you have any questions, please get in touch with Nuriyah Haque, Participation and Events Officer at nhaque@yacvic.org.au.
