The Youth Disability Advocacy Service (YDAS) is currently looking for disabled young people, aged 12 to 25, to feature in an online video series.

YDAS works with disabled young people in Victoria to make sure you can speak up and you are being treated fairly.

What is the video series about?

We are creating videos to teach disabled young people, like yourself, how to set goals and get the most out of their NDIS plans.

We will ask you questions about your goals and your experience with the NDIS. We will send you the questions in advance so you can practice your answers before filming.

Can I be in the video series?

If you are a disabled young person, aged 12 to 25, and you have experience with the NDIS then you can be in the videos.

Filming will take place in Melbourne.

You don't need to know a lot about the NDIS but if you want to learn more before filming, check out our NDIS blog.

You will be filmed with one or two other disabled young people.

If you have any friends who also have a disability and would like to be in the videos, let them know, because we would love to film groups who are already friends.

You do not need to have any acting experience.

What will the videos be used for?

We run a program called Map Your Future. The program supports disabled young people to set goals and plan for the future.

The videos will be part of our online Map Your Future program. We will also share the videos on social media and during in-person workshops. 

This is a great opportunity to be part of a project that will support lots of disabled young people as they join the NDIS. 


We will be filming on:

  • Tuesday 10 March
  • Wednesday 11 March
  • Thursday 12 March
  • Friday 13 March
  • Monday 16 March

You will only need to come on one of those days. We will ask you what days you are available and then give you a final day and time.


Filming will take place in our Melbourne office. The address is Level 2, 235 Queen Street, Melbourne.

We have accessible and gender-neutral bathrooms. We can organise Auslan interpreters if you let us know in advance.

We will try to make the filming as accessible as possible. Please let us know if you have any access needs.


You will get $100 as either a payment or a pre-paid VISA gift card. You can choose how you get paid.

You can apply to come if you feel comfortable talking or signing or communicating in front of a camera, and feel comfortable answering questions about you, your goals and the NDIS.
