In our submission to Victoria’s 2016 Gender Equality Strategy, YACVic outlines the strong community leadership demonstrated by young women, but also the gender-based inequalities, discrimination and violence they continue to face.

Our submission charts the decline of funding for programs focused on young women’s empowerment and gender equality for young people, and argues for the value of resourcing such work in the future. We also believe that a ‘gender lens’ for policy-making and program funding would strengthen the Victorian Government’s work in the spaces of education, mental health and respectful relationships.
