YACVic’s board of governance would like to announce the appointment of Leo Fieldgrass as YACVic’s new chief executive officer. Leo officially starts in the role on Monday 7 August. The board is very excited for Leo to lead YACVic into a new era and has full confidence in his ability to do so.
This appointment is the result of YACVic’s partnership with Hays Executive Recruitment to undertake a national, active CEO search. Together, Hays and YACVic received significant interest in the role from across the country. The rigorous recruitment process involved four screening and interview stages. This has been an important decision and it is one the YACVic board has not made lightly.
Leo is an accomplished youth worker, policy advocate and senior executive with a breadth of experience in the not-for-profit and public sectors. Leo holds a Master of Arts in social science (policy and human services), a Bachelor of Arts in child and adolescent studies and a Diploma of Higher Education in youth and community studies. In his most recent role as YACVic’s deputy CEO, Leo led operations, assisted in strategic implementation and used his policy advocacy expertise to represent YACVic across the youth and community sectors. Leo was also formerly the national director of the Australian Youth Affairs Coalition (AYAC), the national peak body for young people and youth workers.
On behalf of the YACVic board, thank you for your continued support of YACVic, young Victorians and the Victorian youth sector.
Chair, YACVic Board
