More than 180 young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Victorians gathered at the Koorie Youth Summit for two days to connect, discuss health and wellbeing and help shape state policy on Aboriginal affairs.

The only event of its kind in the country, the Summit was a chance for young Koories to connect with each other, celebrate their culture, and generate ideas to create the future they want to see.

Recommendations from the Summit included increased cultural education in schools, with delegates advocating for Indigenous culture to form a significant part of the primary school curriculum for both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people.
