In our submission, YACVic considers how young people’s transport access might be improved, while also seeking to protect their safety. We outline the most effective approaches to promoting road safety amongst young people, and offer suggestions of how these could be further incorporated into Victoria’s licensing system. We also highlight the links between car dependence and disadvantage, and urge a range of interventions to support those young people at greatest risk of transport disadvantage, including improved, accessible and affordable public transport and greater access to the L2P program.
