Front + Centre young member volunteers

We’re looking for up to twelve young YACVic members for fantastic volunteering opportunities at our conference this October. 

You’ll get to:

  • Assist with our registration desk, welcoming people as they arrive and providing information at break times
  • Help people use our conference app and find workshop rooms
  • Support our workshop presenters by keeping them on time and making sure they have everything they need for their session
  • Act as ‘roving microphone’ runners, passing the microphone to audience members during Q&A sessions

Help Recruit Team (HR Team): young people on interview panels


We are seeking a group of around 10 young people to form our HR Team and help us recruit the best possible staff to YACVic. Every time YACVic interviews a potential new employee someone from this team will participate as an equal member on the interview panel alongside staff members.

Young Thinker in Residence (YTiR)



Part-time, one to two days per week — paid ($30 p/hr)

What’s the role about?

We are looking for two YACVic Young Members (aged 18–25) to be our very first Young Thinkers in Residence (YTiR). YTiR is a unique and exciting opportunity for you to work on a social or political topic of interest to you with the full support of YACVic.

There are no qualification requirements to apply and we encourage you to propose something you are passionate about.

You’ll research a topic and then will have the freedom to write articles, give presentations, and ultimately produce a discussion paper, research report or video presentation on your topic at the YACVic 2017 conference in Melbourne (18–20 October).

We see the conference as an excellent opportunity for you to be involved in a sector event, potentially engaging with keynote speakers, blogging and presenting your research at the event.

Remuneration: $59,280 - $63,232 p.a. classified at SCHCADS Award Level 4 (YACVic pays above award rates).
