If you’re a young person (25 or under), we’d love you to join YACVic, and there’s a million reasons you should.

First, you get a bunch of stuff like our e-bulletin Announce and newsletter Yikes, as well as our member-specific e-zine YACBITES containing information on news, events and opportunities specifically for young people. On top of that, membership gives you the chance to join our Youth Reference Group and other important discussions, where you can have a direct say on issues that affect young people.

You'll also get to use our meeting room for free, as well as hear about heaps of competitions and fun stuff. The best part is, as a young person, membership only costs $2/year (or $3 for two years).

YACVic is a member-driven organisation. That means the more members we have, the more we can do to advocate for young people's rights in the community, government and policy debates! Not quite sure what this means? Well, here are some of the things we’ve done lately:

  • Worked hard to make sure young people's views are represented in the new Graffiti Bill and the new Piercing and Tattooing Bill
  • Worked with young people to ensure that their voice is heard in community and government organisations on issues that affect them
  • Worked hard to push the government for more funding for youth centres
  • Worked with the Human Rights Commission to let them know your views about young people's rights.
Still think there's something else we should be doing? Well join us and let us know!

If you had the chance to shape research into cyber bullying what would you tell the researchers?

Bullying & Cyber Bullying

Have you ever felt as though the behaviour you’ve experienced on-line might be bullying, but were not quite sure?
