What is YACVic?

YACVic is Victoria’s peak body and leading policy advocate on young people’s rights. We’re not so much a youth-work organisation but a youth policy organisation, in that we advocate for the rights of young people, through various channels, including community, government and other youth organisations.

That is not to say, however, that we do not engage with young people. On the contrary, a lot of our work is informed and guided by young people – either through feedback from our young members, consultation sessions that we conduct, or simply by hitting the streets and asking young people for the views.

Young people also form a core part of our two main advisory mechanisms – our Policy Advisory Group (PAG) and our Youth Reference Group – as well as our Board of Governance (which, by our Constitution, can comprise up to five young people).

If you would like to learn more about YACVic, head to the About Us section of the main site, where you can find out more about joining our PAG or Board, about our vision and objectives, our policy principles, details of what we’ve being doing in the past year from our Annual Report, and much more!
