Connect 8 -- The Global Social Entrepreneurs Challenge - 31-05-2010

Contributed by: Connect8

Description:

Connect8 is a recently established non-profit organisation that provides a platform at a global level to individuals, institutions and social enterprises in fostering creation of social impacts.

Connect 8 is all about people. People connecting with people to try and bring about equality in the world. It's about empowerment, giving people the opportunity to help themselves and their families. Connect8 is not a charity. Connect 8 is a web of humanity, be it in for one person, a family, a school or organisation. It's about showing the world, you don’t need to be in government or hold a PHD to bring about change. It's about connecting with the right people and the right organisations to make change happen. Connect 8 will be the platform to make it happen. The platform that will allow anyone who has an idea, an opportunity to learn, develop and execute their ideas, and bring about giving back to humanity.

In April 2011, enterprising individuals, organisations and businesses will be given the opportunity to change the lives of people and communities around the world. Connect8 will launch the start of The Global Social Entrepreneurs Challenge, an annual competition that will see entries that will aim to improve issues in the areas of poverty, health, education and climate issues.

To organise this challenge, we are looking for highly motivated individuals to join us from July 2010.

If you are interested in Social Entrepreneurship, or are to simply wanting to get involved to develop your skills, email us on connect8GSEC@gmail.com with your resume and expression of interest by July 1 2010.
