Course Description: This course aims
to provide students with theoretical insights and practical
competences that will enable them to play a creative role
in dealing with the needs, problems and aspirations of young
people in a variety of public and community-based settings,
including employment as a youth worker. Students are also
required to complete three practicum placements.
Principal areas of study: Students undertake a major
in Youth Studies and Sociology. An additional minor is chosen
from Family Studies, Pastoral Counselling, Recreation Studies,
Psychology, Behavioural Science, Theological Studies, Media
Studies.

Services)

Course Description: This course aims
to complement previous social sciences studies. It enables
students to gain a sound knowledge of advanced theoretical
and empirical research findings in areas relevant to Human
Services practise, as well as providing them with advanced
research and practise skills.
Principle areas of study: The course
consists of 4 units and a minor thesis OR 6 units and a professional
project. Units that are offered include; contemporary Human
Services Management, Social Theory and Social Policy, Social
Justice and Advocacy, Young People, Family and Human Services
and Managing and Attracting Resources.

Course Description: This course aims
to provide students with the theoretical insights and practical
competences that will enable them to play a creative role

Principal areas of study: All students must undertake a major
in either Behavioural Science or Psychology or Sociology with
a second major from: Behavioural Science, Business Studies,
Economics, Family Studies, Pastoral Counselling, Politics,
Psychology, Sociology, Theological Studies, Youth Studies.
Students may be required to undertake supervised field work
training in relevant agencies off-campus if completing major
studies in the following areas: Psychology, Pastoral Counselling,
Youth Studies [Psychology is only offered at Christ campus
as a counselling sequence].
