Policy and projects
One of YACVic's main objectives is to develop
a framework which integrates youth issues into social policy processes
and to ensure that young people participate meaningfully in this
process.
This means making sure that young peoples issues are heard by the
government and the wider community. To do this we research issues
that are relevant to young people in Victoria and then raise these
issues in our submissions and discussion papers.
Often the Government releases discussion papers to consult the
community about a variety of issues. In responding to these papers,
YACVic consults with its members to ensure our submissions reflect
the concerns of young people and those working with young people.
YACVic members are encouraged to become involved in this policy
process. Members will be invited to participate in consultations
organised by YACVic. Members can also be appointed to the Policy
Advisory Group or to the Youth
Reference Group which provide policy advice to the Board.
