The Youth Affairs Council of Victoria (YACVic) is the peak body and leading policy advocate on young people's issues in Victoria. YACVic’s vision is that young Victorians have their rights upheld and are valued as active participants in their communities. For 55 years, the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria (YACVic) has advocated for the best interests of young people (aged 12-25 years) and the sector that works with them.
Thanks to new Victorian Government funding, YACVic is expanding its support to rural and regional communities through two YACVic Rural sites, in Warrnambool and Swan Hill. Rural Development Coordinators will lead the development of each site.
This is a rare opportunity to play a leading role in the Victorian community sector while working for Victoria’s youth peak body. The Rural Development Coordinator will:
- build the capacity of young people, youth services and rural and regional communities,
- facilitate networks, events and training, contribute to policy initiatives with lasting benefits for thousands of young people and families across the state.
