YACVic's submission to the ACTU Inquiry into Insecure Work

YACVic has made a submission to the Australian Council of Trade Unions’ (ACTU) Independent Inquiry into Insecure Work in Australia. In our submission, we discussed the extent of insecure work for Australian young people aged 15-25 years, the workers who are most at risk of insecure work and why, and the effect of insecure work on regional communities, social inclusion, and community organisations.

Media Release: Deferment of decision around mandatory sentencing for 16 and 17 year olds – a wise and cautious approach

“The Attorney General’s response to the Sentencing Advisory Council’s Statutory Minimum Sentences for Gross Violence Offences Report and his decision to take more time to consult on mandatory sentence minimums for children aged 16 and 17 years is warmly welcomed,” Georgie Ferrari, CEO of the Youth Affairs Council of Victoria (YACVic) said today.

HEY Grants Funding Opportunity

Does your organisation work with or have plans to
work with same sex attracted and/or sex/gender diverse (SSASGD) young people (aged 14 – 25 years)?
The HEY Grants, a brokerage and innovation small grant round, have been established to assist organisations in providing mental health promotion and capacity building activities for SSASGD young people in their local communities.The Youth Affairs Council of Victoria is administering these grants on behalf of the Department of Health.
