Workshop Sessions
The rooms for all workshop and paper sessions will be pre-allocated. It is important that you attend your allocated sessions and not swap as room sizes vary and have been allocated on the basis on how many people are in each session. Delegates are requested to stay for the whole session and not switch rooms between presentations.
Duty of Care for Young People
If you are bringing young people (under 18) with you to the conference you are responsible for them as workers for the entire time. YACVic is not able to provide any supervision of under 18s throughout the conference.
On the Wednesday night of the conference a function will be held at a licensed premises in the city. Under 18s will be able to attend if they are accompanied by a worker who will take responsibility for them throughout the evening. No alcohol will be served to under 18s. We ask that if you are the worker responsible for under 18s at the function, that you do not drink alcohol throughout the event.
Please check the duty of care, legal requirements and guidelines of your organisation and in your State if bringing under 18s to the conference.
Youth Program and Workers Program
There are two parallel programs offered at this conference; one for young people 12 – 25 and one for workers. The Youth Program is offered exclusively to young people. Young people can attend the workers program. If you are a worker who is under the age of 25 you can attend the young people’s program. |
