YACVic at a Glance

The Youth Affairs Council of Victoria Inc. (YACVic) is the peak body and leading policy advocate on young people's issues in Victoria.

Our vision is for a Victorian community that values and provides opportunity, participation, justice and equity for all young people. We are an independent, not-for-profit organisation.

Our core funding comes from the Victorian Government's Office for Youth. YACVic is governed by a volunteer board and run by a paid secretariat.

We have two main advisory mechanisms, our Policy Advisory Group and our Youth reference Group.

YACVic Organisational Structure. YACVic members nominate or elect the Youth Reference Group, Board of Governance and Policy Advisory Group. The Board of Governance is up to 10 positions including 5 young people. The Board appoint the Youth Reference Group, made up of 6-5 positions and the Policy Advisory Group made up of 6-15 positions. These two groups then advise the Board. The Board governs the Chief Executive Officer who managers the secretariat.
